FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Bret Bielema wants no part of writing off his first season at Arkansas.
The former Wisconsin coach will have his first chance to show just how far the Razorbacks have come since last year's 4-8 disappointment when he leads Arkansas into its home opener against Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.
Bielema was 7-0 as a head coach in season openers with the Badgers, though Ragin' Cajuns figure to be 1 of his more difficult tests.
Louisiana-Lafayette enters the game after back-to-back 9-4 seasons, including a pair of New Orleans Bowl wins. Led by junior quarterback Terrance Broadway, the Ragin' Cajuns come into Saturday confident - especially after nearly winning at Florida last season.
Arkansas lost its last game against a team from the Sun Belt Conference, falling to Louisiana-Monroe last season.
