JONESBORO (AP) - The Arkansas attorney general's office has scheduled a workshop in Jonesboro on the state's open records law.

The event set for Thursday is the first in a series of free instructional meetings organized by Attorney General Dustin McDaniel's staff.

A spokesman says the sessions offer training for anyone interested in using the Freedom of Information Act.

The Jonesboro session is to be held at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is no admission charge but participants must register in advance by emailing info@arkansaspress.org or calling 501-374-1500.

Other sessions will be held later in Fort Smith, Bentonville, Little Rock and Texarkana.
