FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Brandon Allen will have the opportunity to put his bad memories to rest once and for all when he leads Arkansas into its season opener.
The Razorbacks open their season on Saturday by hosting Louisiana-Lafayette, a team that has put together back-to-back 9-4 seasons and wins in the New Orleans Bowl.
Allen won the starting quarterback position during the spring.
He struggled in limited action last season, finishing 21 of 49 passing for 186 yards. However, new coach Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Jim Chaney expect the sophomore to play like a seasoned veteran against the Ragin' Cajuns.
