CONWAY (AP) - Former Arkansas Razorback Cody Clark has been promoted to the major leagues.
The Houston Astros promoted the catcher Friday from Class AA Corpus Christi.
Clark is from Conway and formerly played for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in the Texas League.
Clark spent most of this year at Oklahoma City but was sent to Corpus Christi last week when Max Stassi went up to Houston. Stassi was placed on the disabled list Wednesday after being hit by a pitch.
In 46 games this year, Clark has hit .212 with one home run and 13 RBI. He struck out against Toronto in his major league debut Friday.
