Sens. announce grant to Ark. volunteer fire dept.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Sens. Mark Pryor and John Boozman have announced that the Macedonia-Dorcheat Volunteer Fire Department in southern Arkansas will receive a more than $361,000 grant.

Pryor - a Democrat - and Boozman - a Republican - announced the $361,247 grant Wednesday. It comes from the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The volunteer department near Magnolia will use the grant to purchase fire-safety gear and equipment.
