CONWAY (AP) - Former University of Central Arkansas golfer Nicole Forshner has qualified for the LPGA's CN Canadian Women's Open.
It will be the first LPGA tournament for the 29-year-old Forshner.
Forshner is a native of Banff, Alberta, Canada. She was a 2-time All-Southland Conference golfer at UCA and was the league's Player of the year in 2008 and 2009. She was the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year in 2006.
Forshner earned 1 of 4 tournament berths at Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club on Monday by shooting a one-under 71. She beat out 22 others for 1 of 4 spots in the $2-million tournament that will be held at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club starting on Thursday.
Others in the tournament include former University of Arkansas golfer Stacy Lewis.
