Stop the Violence pleads for information in NLR mother's death

Posted: Updated:

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - A North Little Rock mother was shot and killed at a busy intersection last Wednesday and still no arrests have been made.

Rev. Bennie Johnson with the "Stop the Violence" movement returned to the intersection of JFK and McCain Tuesday where 31-year-old Samantha Cass Olsen was shot while driving. Rev. Johnson said he wants to keep this case fresh on the minds of the public, hoping that someone will give police the information they need to find the killer.

"We just want to reach out to the community and ask, pleading, really begging to those who know who did this - you [are] just as [bad] as the man that pulled the trigger," he said. "You could be the next victim."

Police believe this was a random shooting and they continue to look for a dark maroon 2007-2010 Ford F-150 with tinted windows, chrome wheels and a possible chrome bumper. A toolbox or welding box - possibly orange - was also in the bed of the truck.

"Stop the Violence" has received tips in the past that solved cases. The most notable cases were in 2008 when a 6-year-old was gunned down while sleeping and in 2009 when Salvation Army Maj. Phillip Wise was robbed and killed.

"You can do it," said Rev. Johnson. "You have done it before and we are begging - please do it again."

Police are offering a "substantial" reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
