Authorities have taken two people into custody after spending hours searching a pond near the location of a robbery and murder in Skiatook last week.

According to Skiatook Police, Aaron King and Amanda Auten were taken into custody Monday in connection with the robbery and murder of Ken Cooper.

After sifting through evidence, Skiatook Police Detective Jerry Bullard said police were able to locate and arrest the pair.

They will be booked into the Osage County Jail and the District Attorney's office will review the case and decide on specific charges.

Tulsa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Major Shannon Clark confirmed that the agency's dive team was on site assisting Skiatook Police at their request, but could not reveal exactly what they were searching for in the pond.

Bullard said they received a tip and were looking for evidence in a couple of ponds in the area. He said they are still searching for the gun used in the crime, which is believed to be a small caliber weapon.

Officials were in the area, which is in the Village Park subdivision in Skiatook, for several hours Monday afternoon, wrapping up the search around 7 p.m.

Crews plan to return on Tuesday.

83-year-old Ken Cooper called 911 himself after he was shot in the chest last Wednesday. Cooper was taken to a Tulsa hospital and died from his injuries Saturday afternoon.

Tulsa's Channel 8 will have the latest on this developing story tonight at 10 p.m.
