WASHINGTON (Arkansas News Bureau) - Two groups serving Arkansas were among 105 organizations awarded $67 million in federal grants Thursday to help participants seeking coverage through heath insurances exchanges beginning this fall under the Affordable Care Act.
The Arkansas Navigator Coalition, based at the University of Arkansas, will get $774,745 to reach out to areas of the state with the highest level of uninsured individuals and provide those individuals with help as they shop for insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace when it opens Oct. 1.
The coalition is made up of agencies serving young adults, Latinos, African Americans, the homeless, mentally ill, disabled and poor across Arkansas.
