FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas football team began its second week of preseason camp with two practices Monday. Wide receivers coach Michael Smith and running backs coach Joel Thomas met with the media following practice and discussed the transition to two-a-days.
"We had two practices today," Coach Smith said. "They were long and hard practices. The kids battled through it. This morning it was a little slow, but they came out this second practice and practiced pretty well."
Coach Thomas also talked about the need for the team to mature quickly.
"We have about twenty days to become a mature group," Coach Thomas said. "You aren't going to get sympathy letters from your opponents on Saturdays that you may be young or inexperienced. That is not an excuse, we don't have that in this room."
While practices remain closed, check ArkansasRazorbacks.com for continued coverage of preseason camp.
The Razorbacks will host their annual Fan Day presented by Pepsi on Sunday, from 2-4 p.m. inside Bud Walton Arena. For more information, click here.
