A North Carolina 12-year-old traveling in Arkansas found the 27th largest diamond ever found by a visitor in Crater of Diamonds State Park.

Michael Dettlaff found a 5.16 carat, honey brown diamond after searching only 10 minutes in late July.

Park Interpreter Waymon Cox said, "It's thrilling any time a child finds a diamond here at Crater of Diamonds State Park. Michael was excited to have found his own diamond, as just about any boy would be, but he was absolutely awestruck when he realized its significance."

Dettlaff was traveling with his family to Fayetteville, when they decided to travel 100 miles out of their way to visit the diamond site.

Grateful for the blessing of the find, Dettlaff named his gem the God's Glory Diamond.
