Study: Americans Have More Free Time Than Last Generation

Posted: Updated:

Do you feel tired and overworked?

Well, a new study says that we have a lot more free time than a generation ago.

In 1965, Americans reported having just under 35 hours a week of leisure time.

That's about when the average work week was more than 38 hours.

But now, many of us have nearly 42 hours of free time every week while spending just 34 hours working.

The growth of part-time jobs is a big reason for the change.

Also, modern technology is cutting down the time we spend on housework and cooking.
