LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Mountain Home school officials are trying a new tack to solve an old problem.
Student-athletes at Mountain Home have some of the longest bus rides in the state when they play at other schools.
The school has worked with the Arkansas Activities Association to address the problem but hasn't been able to convince other schools to adapt.
Mountain Home administrators are now trying to convince the Legislature to address the problem.
Under Mountain Home's current classification rules, every conference game is two hours or more away. Multi-sport athletes miss up to 18 days of school because of travel requirements.
