SWAT standoff ends peacefully Friday morning

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - What started as a hunt for a stolen car Friday morning ended in a standoff at a Little Rock hotel.

Arkansas State Police first went to the Rodeway Inn & Suites at 2401 W. 65th Street around 6:00 a.m. looking for a stolen vehicle. They found the 2002 Nissan Sentra but only one person was inside - 34-year-old Juan Hernandez-Tonteras - and the stolen vehicle report mentioned a second person.

Hernandez-Tonteras had a room key so troopers tried to check the room but a woman was inside and refused to come out.

After SWAT officers were called, the woman eventually came out on her own and has not been charged with anything. Hernandez-Tonteras was charged with theft by receiving.
