Houston man held in kidnapping, assault case

A Houston, Texas, man is under arrest and being held for immigration officials after police say he kidnapped two men, beating one with a pistol.

Jose Angel Martinez, 35, is charged with two counts of kidnapping, aggravated assault, drug possession and manufacturing and illegal possession of a firearm.

The victim tells police that Martinez kidnapped him and another man from a convenience store and drove them to a mobile home on Chicot Road.  Once inside, the victim says he was beaten with a pistol, knocking out his bottom teeth,  Martinez and a group of unidentified Hispanic men with him demanded money and the title to the victim's pickup truck.

The victims were eventually found by police at a home in the 1500 block of South Grant Street.
