Posted: Updated:

A Tulsa man is behind bars, arrested in connection with several recent armed robberies.

Police arrested Billy Butler, 27, after serving a warrant at a home on Wednesday.

According to a police report, Butler admitted to robbing the Fiesta Mart at 1507 S. Harvard on July 17th and a Church's Chicken at 2555 E. Pine St. on July 21st.

He also admitted to firing a gun at a Fiesta Mart employee on July 19th. The worker was not injured.

Butler got away with cash and cigarettes in the first Fiesta Mart robbery, and cash from Church's Chicken, police said.

Police recovered evidence from the robberies at the home on S. Lewis that Butler was arrested at, including the gun he admitted to using in the incidents.

Butler told police he had been released from prison this year.

He was arrested on two counts of robbery with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. He is jailed on a $230,000 bond.
