Two Pedestrians Hit, Killed on Oklahoma Highways

Two pedestrians were hit and killed within twenty-four hours in two separate incidents on Oklahoma highways.

The first accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, when 54-year-old Carol Coker of Ratliff was walking north on the northbound shoulder of State Highway 76, south of Ratliff in Carter County.

A driver veered onto the shoulder and hit Coker. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was not injured.

The second wreck happened just after 2 a.m. Thursday, just south of Connerville in Johnston County.

According to OHP, a pedestrian was laying across the southbound lane of US-377 when a Dodge Pickup truck with four passengers inside ran over the pedestrian.

Troopers are continuing to investigate. The pedestrian's name has not been released, pending notification of family.
