Murder Rates for Young People Hit 30-Year Low

Murder rates for children, teens and young adults have hit a 30-year low, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.   

The homicide rates for 10- to 24-year-olds have been falling since 2000, but it remains among the top three causes of death for young people.

In 2010, 4,828 children and young adults aged 10 to 24 were murdered in the united states.

The CDC said most of the killing involves guns.
