SANFORD, Fla. -

The verdict deciding George Zimmerman's fate is in.

The jury found Zimmerman not guilty.

The six-woman panel spent more than 16 hours weighing Zimmerman's fate since Friday, after two weeks of testimony and dramatic closing arguments.

The jury in Sanford, Fla. had three options to consider: guilty of second-degree murder, guilty of manslaughter, or not guilty.

Zimmerman pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder. He claimed he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in self-defense last year.
