Former University of Oklahoma pitcher Jonathan Gray made his professional debut Wednesday night. Gray was the third-overall pick of the Colorado Rockies. He took the mound for the Grand Junction Rockies and faced the Billings Mustangs.
The night didn't start out very well. He gave up three runs off four hits in the first inning. He gave up two more hits and another run in the second. Gray pitched just three innings in his first professional start. On the night he gave up four runs, three earned and struck out one batter.
The Rockies scored nine runs in the bottom of the third and go on to win 10-5.
Gray got a no decision.
