Grammy nominated director from Forrest City returns for first film

Posted: Updated:

A Forrest City native, now a music video director in Los Angeles, is coming back home to create his first feature film.

Grammy nominated director Chris Hicky has directed music videos for Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Carrie Underwood just to name a few.

But his first movie will be shot in the Arkansas delta.

"The Grace of Jake" tells the story of a wayward musician who confronts a father he has never met.

Jordin Sparks, American Idol winner, has been cast in the movie and shooting is slated to begin in September.

Hicky has already raised more than $100,000 to fund the movie but is trying to reach $125,000 by July 18.
