OSHA fines Northwest Arkansas construction site after worker was buried alive

Posted: Updated:

FAYETTEVILLE (40/29 News) - OSHA issued a $7,600 fine to Business Construction Services, LLC, the company building the Vue Apartments in Fayetteville, after the May death of a construction worker.

That worker was an electrical contractor and was helping to dig a ditch to bury underground lines when the ditch collapsed, burying him.

This was not the first incident at the Vue construction site. A worker was electrocuted in June and hundreds of gallons of diesel spilled from a fuel tank a few weeks after that, making for three accidents in six weeks. There was also a month-long work stoppage in April for fire code violations.
