Man sentenced to 60 years for making child porn

FAYETTEVILLE - A Northwest Arkansas man was sentenced Monday for producing images of child pornography.

James Hanna, 67, will serve 60 years in prison without the possibility of parole. He was sentenced to supervised release should he ever be released from prison and fined $25,000.

United States Attorney Conner Eldridge commented, "Crimes against children victimize the most vulnerable in our communities. The Defendant in this case produced child pornography by preying on several minor girls, some as young as 13 years old. With this sentence, he has been held accountable for these crimes."

According to documents filed in the case, a concerned parent contacted the Madison County Sheriff's Office in August 2012 with information that Hanna had sexually assaulted two 13-year-old girls. The victims told investigators Hanna had been taking sexually explicit photos of them at his home.

Detectives found several computers, digital cameras, and digital storage devices at Hanna's home holding multiple sexually explicit images of the minors.

Hanna pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child pornography, though prosecutors had evidence he had produced sexually explicit images of at least six different girls ranging from 13 to 16 years old.
