LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton's decision whether to challenge Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor won't just affect the Republican Party's bid to complete a sweep of the state's federal offices next year. It'll also determine how crowded a field the GOP will see in a least two other major races.

Several Republicans are already making plans on what to do is Cotton decides to challenge Pryor in next year's election.

Lt. Gov. Mark Darr says he's likely to run for Cotton's south Arkansas congressional seat if the incumbent lawmaker challenges Pryor. A Darr bid for Congress could open up a heated primary for the state's No. 2 constitutional office, and several Republicans say they're eyeing that race.

Cotton has indicated that he'll announce a decision about his political future later this year.
