JONESBORO (AP) - Arkansas State's women's basketball team has picked up a forward to help in the frontcourt.

The school says Amanda Lawson joins the team after playing at Kilgore College in Texas. At Kilgore, Lawson averaged 12.6 points per game, along with 6.5 rebounds. Lawson played previously at Houston and was named to the Conference USA all-freshman team.

She is originally from Bryan, Texas.

Lawson had signed with Texas Tech this year but was allowed to leave after a coaching change there.
