SHERWOOD (KATV) - Many of the country's top softball teams will be in town Friday for the 34th Annual Busch-Pepsi Classic.
The numbers are amazing: 117 teams, 1700 players, 10 fields and 209 games. "Mr. Softball" - Clint Allbright - said the field includes top teams from 12 states.
"It's a great opportunity to see all of these teams from out of state, the top teams in the nation in men and women. But the exciting thing is the Arkansas teams always do so well," said Allbright. "Last year, four of the five divisions were won by Arkansas teams. A lot of those teams are back this year to defend their championship and we're hopeful you will all come out to Sherwood...and root for the Arkansas teams."
Friday night at 5:00 in Sherwood, they will honor their Hall of Fame class of 2013, including The Buzz's Randy Rainwater.
