The Baxter County sheriff's office says a six-year-old girl found submerged under water this weekend died Monday morning.

Sheriff's deputies were alerted Sunday afternoon by a U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Park Ranger that a child has possibly drowned at the Cranfield swim beach at Lake Norfork. She was removed from the water, and emergency crews performed CPR.

The child, identified as Frankie Lyn Tollen of Mountain Home, was taken to a local hospital and later transported to Children's Hospital in Little Rock. She died at 5:45 Monday Morning.

According to the report, family members began looking for the child after she failed to return from visiting the restroom. The child was found submerged in approximately five feet of water at the Cranfield swim beach.
