Little Rock students dig deeper at Enrichment Camp

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Some of the top 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in Little Rock are spending their summer on a special project.

They are at Enrichment Camp where they spent the week learning about the American Indians of Arkansas. They put their summer skills on display during a dramatic presentation Friday.

The camp is designed for kids who are already advanced or proficient so they can dig deeper.

"A summer opportunity where they are thinking outside the box, where they can get creative," described Katina Ray with the Little Rock School District. "A lot of those activities they weren't able to get into in their regular classroom because of time factors and other issues."

Students explored archaeology, geography, math, writing, social studies and computer skills as they studied American Indians.
