VILONIA (Log Cabin Democrat) - Tim Goers, the newly hired head boys basketball coach for the Vilonia School District, said he believes he is going from a "great place" to a place that is "really something special."
"I grew up in a school [Booneville] that was successful in so much," he said. "I want to be a part of that again. My family wants to be a part of that."
Three visits to the community, he said, and he feels like he is among old friends. He also spoke briefly about the school district and some of the basketball players he is leaving behind.
"I'm not running from anything. In fact, I'm sad to be leaving Booneville. It is a great place," he said. "But my family, we feel we are going to a place that is really something special."
