South Tulsa Home Destroyed In Fire

Posted: Updated:
South Tulsa -

Investigators are looking into what started a fire that destroyed a South Tulsa home, Sunday Evening.

Firefighters were called to the home near 91st & Yale around seven o'clock. Smoke from the fire could be seen from as far away as West Tulsa.

Drew Vitch lives in the neighborhood and called 911. "When I got here, just the deck was on fire and the owner of the home was out in the back yard with a garden hose," Vitch says. "I started yelling for him to get out of the way because it was past the garden hose point at that point."

District Chief John Steiner says four people were at home at the time of the fire, everyone was able to get out safely. Steiner believes the home is a total loss.

At this point, it's unclear what may have sparked the fire. Fire officials are continuing their investigation.
