Prom for terminally ill children

Posted: Updated:

LOS ANGELES (CNN) - A Los Angeles-based foundation made the dream of attending prom come true for hundreds of teens suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

About 200 kids attended this special prom Thursday night.

"No Worries Now" sponsored the event. The organization ensures terminally ill teens get to dance the night away at a prom - an event that many would have otherwise missed.

"It's a chance to get together with people that know what you've gone through in the past and just to, like, hang out and just have fun," said 19-year-old Eric Mandzuch. "Get away from all the negativity and all the harassment and cruelty that goes on in the high school world."

"No Worries Now" holds four proms in California and one in Washington each year.
