Chefs Help Children Affected By Tornadoes

Posted: Updated:

A long list of Tulsa chefs will be working this weekend to help Oklahoma's tornado victims.

They've created an event called "Chef Aid" that happens Saturday night.

A couple of them were in our studios Friday morning to talk about the effort.

Thirty-eight restaurants will offer samplings of their best dishes.

They wanted to cook for the tornado victims right after the storms, but that help was not needed at the time, so the money they raise will help children who have been affected by all of Oklahoma's recent tornadoes.

"We thought focusing on the kids and what they needed would be a good way to go so there wouldn't be any confusion about where the money is going," says Michael Fusco, who is working with Chef Aid. "Everything is being donated, so all the money is going to the children to help them."

The event is $75 per person, and beer and wine is included.

It starts at the convention center in downtown Tulsa at 6:30 p.m.
