A former football player for the University of Oklahoma was arrested by Tulsa Police officers for selling crack-cocaine Wednesday.

36-year-old Demond Parker, an ex-running back for the Sooners, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday for failing to stop at a stop sign in the 3500 block of N. Lansing.

According to a police report, Parker was seen shoving something under his seat as officers arrived.

Officers also noted a machete in the backseat of the vehicle, so they removed all of the occupants.

As they were patting them down, police said they felt a pill bottle in Parker's pocket.

When asked if the were prescription pills, Parker reportedly responded with, "No sir, it's weed."

A search of the vehicle found another pill bottle filled with 28 grams of cocaine under the front passenger's seat, police said.

Parker was arrested on that marijuana possession charge, a crack-base trafficking charge, and an outstanding warrant.

He is being held in the Tulsa Co. Jail on a $25,000 bond.
