HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Hot Springs has landed a new conference championship after losing the Sun Belt Conference basketball tournament to New Orleans earlier this year.
The Great American Conference announced Wednesday that it's selected Hot Springs to host the 2013 and 2014 volleyball championships. The games will be played at Summit Arena.
Conference commissioner Will Prewitt says volleyball is the latest GAC sport to move its championship to a neutral site. The 2013 tournament will be Nov. 21-23 and the 2014 games will be played Nov. 13-15.
Summit Arena will also host the Arkansas high school basketball championships from 2014 through 2016.
The Great American Conference includes Arkansas-Monticello, Arkansas Tech, Harding, Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas. Oklahoma members include East Central, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
