UALR names Casey as interim vice provost

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has named Paula Casey as its interim vice provost for research and dean of the graduate school.

Casey is a former U.S. attorney who had served as the interim dean of UALR's Bowen School of Law. Casey's new appointment is effective July 1.

UALR says Casey is the longest serving faculty member in the law school. She's also served as chief counsel and legislative director for U.S. Sen. Dale Bumpers from 1990 until 1992. In 1993, President Bill Clinton appointed Casey as U.S. attorney. She held that position until 2001, when she returned to the law school.

Casey has a bachelor's degree from East Central University of Oklahoma and a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
