LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Mayor Mark Stodola Tuesday started a big summer push to get folks to help keep Little Rock beautiful.

Stodola announced a new strategic partnership between the Keep Little Rock Beautiful Commission and the Little Rock Public Works Department.

The idea is to get the word out that the city wants folks to adopt a street in Little Rock. The program has been around for almost 18 years, but this is one of the biggest efforts to get the public to sign on.

"It's a very, very fun thing to do," said Mayor Stodola. "I say that because I want you to know that you're helping to keep us clean. And, in fact, one of the more recent assessments of our city is that we're one of the cleanest cities in America."

So far, only 123 Little Rock streets have been adopted. That leaves several hundred in need of volunteers.
