CONWAY (KATV) - Investigators remain working to find out who is responsible for killing a 23-year-old father early this morning.

When police arrived on scene at about 1:30 Sunday morning, they found one man with a minor injury from a gunshot wound, and another person shot to death.

Investigators found 23-year-old Quenton Alexander from Conway laying just outside his vehicle, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Motel 6 on Father's Day, with Alexander leaving a young son behind.

"He was a good dad to his son, and he of course helped take care of my sister's kids as well. You know they were very, very close," said Susan Kittler, a close friend of Alexander.

Kittler viewed Alexander as a part of her family; after all he's been dating her sister for about three years. She said he was even someone her kids took a special liking to.

"I know she was planning on giving him some stuff for Father's Day today, and they had some stuff planned, but she didn't even get the chance to give him any Father's
Day cards or anything," she added about her sister, Sandra, who declined to talk.

Police are trying to piece together evidence that will lead to a suspect., and  they're turning to several witnesses for help.

"They actually saw what they believe (was) the person committing the shooting leaving the scene," said LaTresha Woodruff with Conway Police Department.

"That person was described by all of the witnesses, and the other victim, as a light-skinned black male about 5'2", weighing between 150 and 170 pounds."

From those close to Alexander, they aren't sure where exactly he was heading at that time of the morning, but it's not believed he was staying at the hotel.

Police are on the lookout for a suspect in a double shooting that left one person dead early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the Motel 6 on 1100 block of Skyline Drive around 1:30 A.M.

Conway Police Department spokesperson, LaTresha Woodruff, tells KATV News that 23-year old Quenton Alexander suffered deadly gunshot wounds while sitting in a car.

A second victim was grazed by a bullet and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw a black man wearing a white shirt, standing 5'2'', between 150 and 170lbs running from the scene.
