Fewer Young Americans Relying On Credit Cards

Posted: Updated:

Many young Americans are steering clear of credit cards.

In fact, the number of those without credit cards has doubled since the recession.

About 16% of 18- to 29-year-olds didn't have a single credit card in 2012.

That's up from 8% in 2007.

As a result, credit card debt is also down.

But it's still about $2,100 per person.
