LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Former Little Rock police officer Josh Hastings claims a car with three juveniles suspected of burglarizing vehicles was rushing toward him when he shot and killed the driver last year.

On Monday, jury selection begins in an effort by prosecutors to prove that the facts don't add up with Hastings' account.

Hastings is charged with felony manslaughter for the Aug. 12 death of 15-year-old Bobby Moore III.

Jurors will have to decide whether Hastings was reckless or justified in shooting at the car.

Police Chief Stuart Thomas fired Hastings after the shootings, and then prosecutors lodged the manslaughter charge.

Hastings' attorney, Bill James, says Hastings will testify.

The trial is expected to wrap up by Thursday.
