AR teens using their summer free time to improve the lives of others

Teenagers from all over Arkansas are in North Little Rock to take part in the Ozark Mission Project, but they won't be sleeping in or hanging by the pool while they're here.

They'll be spending the week working in the heat doing some labor intensive projects to make things a little nicer for people who are physically or financially unable to maintain their homes.

"They have projects where they build wheelchair ramps, building a porch for someone, we're doing some demo-ing. Those kinds of things that are designed to help improve life for the people in the houses but also for social needs and interactions that people may have," said Julie Foote, Mission Project Camp Director.

Last year Ozark Mission Project campers did 46 projects for 37 neighbors in North Little Rock in one week.
