Rodney Ray is accused of writing a bogus check, according to charges filed Monday in Tulsa County District Court.

The Owasso City Council voted last month to place Ray on administrative leave.

Prosecutors allege that Ray wrote a bogus check for $3,082.89 to Clear Tone Hearing Aid Laboratories in September 2010, according to the court filing.

Ray also faces a charge of false reporting of a crime. The court filing states that Ray contacted police in December 2012 to report the check was stolen after being asked if he wrote the check by investigators from the district attorney’s office.

Ray declined to comment late Monday afternoon, but said he plans to turn himself in.
