FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn says he plans to allocate more scholarship money for offense in the wake of an earlier-than-expected exit from the NCAA tournament.
The Razorbacks (39-22) began the season as the top-ranked team in the country, but an inconsistent offense hurt the team. Arkansas' season came to an end with a loss to Kansas State in the Manhattan Regional, a trip that marked the school's 11th tournament berth in as many seasons under Van Horn.
The Razorbacks posted a 1.89 team ERA this season, tops in the country, but they were 190th with an average of 4.9 runs scored per game.
