Former Michigan gov to headline Ark. Dems' Jefferson-Jackson Dinner

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm will be the headline speaker at the Democratic Party of Arkansas' annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner this year.

The dinner is set for June 15 at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock.

Democratic Party Chairman Will Bond says Granholm has an "energetic and visionary voice." Bond says Granholm's message on job creation will help Arkansas Democrats remain focused as they look toward the 2014 election cycle.

Granholm was elected as Michigan's governor in 2002. Before that, she served as a federal prosecutor and as the state's first female attorney general.
