Posted: Updated:

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - A Greenbrier woman has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in last year's shooting death of her husband.

Amanda Leigh Ewing entered her plea Tuesday in Faulkner County Circuit Court. Prosecutors accused the 27-year-old woman of conspiring with her ex-husband, Clayton Monsees, to kill her husband, Billy Joe Ewing, who went by the nickname B.J.

The Log Cabin Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10LyIud ) that Amanda Ewing was sentenced to 55 years in prison. Both she and Monsees were originally charged with capital murder for Ewing's March 20, 2012, death.

Monsees pleaded guilty in January to first-degree murder and was also sentenced to 55 years in prison.

Authorities say B.J. Ewing was able to speak with responders before his death and told them Monsees and his wife were responsible.
