Little Rock teacher arrested for Benton shooting incident

(KATV, Source: BPD) Benton - Detectives with the Benton Police Department have made a second arrest in connection to a shooting incident that took place on April 26, on Millbrook Cove.  The suspect, Timothy Gauldin, 29, of Benton, was taken into custody on May 17, after being released from a local hospital. 

A Benton Police Department spokesperson says evidence found during the investigation indicates that the alleged victim in the case, Timothy Gauldin, shot himself with the help of a friend, Jason Gaunt, 35. Gauldin is charged with Possession of a Firearm by Certain Person-Felon and Filing a False Police Report (Felony). 

Gaunt is a teacher with the Little Rock School District. Click here to hear what he had to say the day after the shooting.

Gaunt was previously charged in the case for Furnishing a Firearm to a Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additionally, Gauldin is an active parolee out of the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections. 

This is an on-going investigation and additional charges could be possible as it continues.
