Preservation group to list endangered Ark. sites

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas is preparing to release its list of historic properties that it views as the most endangered in the state.

The list of 7 properties is to be released at a news conference at 10 a.m. Thursday. The group is holding its event at the historic William Woodruff House near downtown Little Rock.

The list is designed to highlight historically and architecturally significant properties throughout the state that the organization says are threatened. Organizers say the properties face a range of threats, from deterioration to public policies that don't foster preservation.

The group developed the list after soliciting nominations from residents and organizations across Arkansas.
