7OYS Case Updates

Posted: Updated:
LITTLE ROCK -

There are a couple cases that Seven-On-Your-Side has been tracking that are worthy of updates this evening, starting with a construction quandary for an 89 year-old woman.

The Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board is holding up the renewal of Marcus Dupree's contractor's license.

But Dupree can still work...even on Gretchen Madison's home if he wants to...and if he can afford to.

Madison is still a long ways away from living out her days in this home on her family land in North Little Rock.

Next week Madison and her family will meet with the Contractor's Licensing Board...again...to discuss the problems with the home built by Northstar Consultants.

Several state inspectors have found problems with the project.

Madison would prefer to get some money back so that she could hire somebody else to make the structure livable. But Dupree has submitted a timetable by which he says he plans to bring the home up to code.

But it won't help that Dupree is being sued by two banks.

In a filing last week Dupree told the court that his personal property consists of a checking account that had a balance of $750.00.

Also in court this week...Federal court...the criminal trial of Benton attorney Dustin Dyer was rescheduled for the fourth time. Dyer is charged with using his phone to facilitate a drug transaction.

The request for a delay was made by Dyer's attorney.

Dyer's new trial date is November 4th.
