10 year old Teddy needs service dog to avoid deadly allergies

Posted: Updated:

Fundraisers will hold a dinner and auction in June to raise money to buy a local boy a service dog to protect him from severe nut allergies.

Cutter Morning Star Junior High cheerleaders will also join in the effort to help 10 year old Teddy pay for service dog Gizmo.

At just 18 months old, Teddy's parents learned their son had a rare, and sometimes fatal anaphylactic allergy to peanuts and tree nuts – the allergy can make Teddy's throat close up in a matter of minutes if he even gets close to them.

Gizmo, who's being trained by Angel Service Dogs, will be able to sniff out any allergic situations, before Teddy faces danger.

The dinner/auction will be held Saturday, June 8th at the Mountain Harbor Resort Fire Station.  Tickets are $5 per person and all proceeds go to Teddy's service dog project.
