UA Board of Trustees to vote on tuition increases

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees is meeting this week to vote on tuition increases at its campuses across the state.

The board meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Little Rock.

Under the proposal, a resident undergraduate student at the Fayetteville campus would pay $7,818 for tuition and fees in the 2013-2014 school year. That's a 3.5% increase from the current rates.

Other proposed increases are: 10% at UA-Fort Smith, 4.9% at UA-Little Rock, 5.4% at UA-Monticello and 4.9% at UA-Pine Bluff.

For 2-year schools, the increases range from 3.5% at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville to 1.8% at the UA campus in Morrilton.
