County Commissioner Candidates Up, Up And Away

Posted: Updated:

Don Crall, John Bomar and John Wright are each looking to make the big decisions that go along with being county commissioner.

"This is an administration job, and I've been an administrator half my life," said Crall.

"I've worked in all the districts, I've got experience," said Bomar.

"I think I offer the best choice for a smooth transition in terms of governance," said Wright.

But before we get to the big decisions, lets tackle a small one. Such as, if you were on a desert island and you could call one super hero would it be Superman, Batman, or Iron man?

"I'd have to go with Superman, he's been around for years," said Bomar.

"Iron man, I think he could fly me off the island," said Crall.

"That's a tough choice, probably Superman cause he has the capability of flying out of there," smiled Wright.

Ok, back to commissioner mode. Crall, a self-made businessman promotes accountability, transparency, and staying on top of our roads.

"We need to repair our roads prior to having to replace our roads, so infrastructure is very important I believe. We need to be able to be proactive," he said.

Bomar has worked as a construction supervisor for the county for years, and would like to see something happen with the river.

"Naturally I'd like to see water in the Arkansas river," he said. Is that ever going to happen? "It's going to be tough," he said.

Wright is a former state rep, who currently works for the assessors office and wants to maintain quality of life in part through public safety.

"I think enhanced training, enhanced compensation, and certainly perhaps adequate staffing of the sheriffs department," he said.

Making these big decisions, can lead to a big appetite. So back to that desert island. If it had just one fast food restaurant, would it be Long John Silvers, McDonald's or Chick-fil-A?

"Chick-fil-A," said Wright.

"It would have to probably be Long John Silvers, cause that's where the fish is," said Bomar.

"Chick-fil-A," smiled Crall.

So now you now where they stand on the big things, and where they stand on a desert island.
